SKYRIM
With
the amount of build up it got and the awesomeness of its adverts Skyrim
had a lot to live up to, and I suppose it did. It's the best
free-roaming sandbox adventure game you could hope to have and the
graphics are mind-blowing. The combat does it's job, magic is cool as
is cleaving people's heads in with greatswords. The new shouting powers
make for good entertainment, and they've made the accents a lot more
convincing since the last game where everyone sounded like 40 year old
americans...
You'll get virtually endless hours of gameplay out of this one and
although you can spend all your time just following the main missions,
sometimes its just fun to randomly walk off in a direction and have an
adventure exploring some cave or killing every last person in a
stronghold.
I could go on for ages about all the good things in Skyrim, but even
with all that, I must say, after a while of playing the game, since the
whole of it is played in a northern province, it did feel a bit like
playing a Norway simulator with nothing but snow and ice everywhere -
you feel cold after playing it, and I should also note the vast
quantity of glitches - giants that launch you kilometres into the sky,
carts that kill you if you stand on them, dissapearing rivers, the list
goes on, but I actually found the glitches rather amusing most of the
time, so there's no reason they should put you off. So even witha few
flaws, this game still promises you hours of entertainment, so get out
there and start shouting at dragons!
